Gerard recently launched this special project celebrating Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson in Toronto, with the help of Jim Coutts, who worked for both PMs Pearson and Trudeau and in Ottawa, with Ralph Goodale and several other colleagues (see Photos below).

This initial appeal has been very well received and over 100 Pearson Prints have been personally signed by Gerard and sent to donors and friends.

Several people who received their Pearson Print have commented on the fine quality of the drawing. Florence, a young staffer who worked on Parliament Hill during the Pearson years, remarked on Prime Minister Pearson’s incredible achievements, including receiving Canada’s only Nobel Peace Prize before becoming Prime Minister, and as prime minister introduced universal health care, the Canada Pension Plan, student loans, and our red and white maple leaf flag. What is a incredible achievement is knowing that these accomplishments were done in only five years and in a Minority Government.
